If the shell tip is pink it is a rare florida tree snail, Liguus Fasciatus. The white of the shell should be near a cream. Save the shells for proper identification when found. Do not pull off dormant snails attached to trees, that would kill them.
I'm the one who found one too. I looked it up on Wikipedia, and it doesn't seem to match the description of any Florida tree snails..... close, but no cigar.... check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florida_Tree_Snail
